Ruth Benavidez-2nd Grade Teacher
Hi! I’m Mrs. Benavidez, and I’m so happy to be starting my second year at Indian Springs Elementary!
I have been an educator for over 17 years, and my journey has given me the opportunity to work with students of many different ages and abilities. I began my career in Eagle Pass, Texas, where I spent 10 years as an Auditory Impairment teacher. From there, I taught Early Childhood Special Education in a linguistically supported classroom, followed by 1st grade, bilingual 2nd grade, and Special Education Resource. Each of these experiences has shaped the teacher I am today and eventually led me to Indian Springs, a school I’m so grateful to call home.
When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Rudy, and my daughter, Ellie. Music is a huge part of my life, I’m a violinist and have taught violin for many years through my own studio. I also love being creative, decorating, laughing, and finding new ways to make learning exciting and memorable.
Most importantly, I want my students to know that our classroom is a place where they are loved, encouraged, challenged, and celebrated. I truly believe every child brings something special to our classroom, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of their journey. 💛
